Mekong River Textiles works with clients to design bespoke clothing. We have designed over 25 garments over the years and currently have four patterns available for purchase. During a consultation at the designer's studio in Silver Spring, Maryland, the client selects the textiles and style of their choosing. The fabric is then washed and ironed and the jacket, skirt, or top is designed and cut to best display the beauty and quality of the materials and honor the client.
Each schematic created during the design process shows the fabrics for that project and the details of the construction and measurements, such as sleeve and bodice length. The process also allows the designer to visually evaluate the overall effect of the garment when mixing fabrics and conveys other design elements, such as the configuration of fabrics in a collar, bodice, or pocket. This aids the seamstress in the construction of the garment.
