Weft ikat patterning in the diamond motif is both classic and traditional in the textile production of NE Thailand.  The contemporary colors tell us that the piece was made in the last sixty years and today this type of 100% cotton is rare. Textile artisans in this area use carved teak floor looms kept under the house where they can take care of family while weaving.
